Born in 1978 in Croix-Lille (France), Laure Prouvost lives and works in London. Laure Prouvost’s experimentations in tapestry and glass have quickly become emblematic in her œuvre, which oscillates constantly between new technologies (video, sound, lighting, DMX) and a more artisanal touch (ceramics, bronze, metal). Accompanied by the expertise of Flanders Tapestries and Studio Berengo, highly skilled repositories of these ancestral traditions, these professional affinities have been catalysts for the artist in the pursuit of her exploration of formal concerns, already present in her work. These wide-reaching fields of research have resulted in the creation of We Will Keep Cool and Cooling System 10 (For Global Warming). While conserving a recreational freedom and detachment in the choice of forms, these sculptures embody the evident universality of the themes that irrigate the work of Laure Prouvost, remarkable in its generosity.
