Michele Ciacciofera was born in 1969 in Italy where he lives and works. Tales of the
Floating World is composed of ten polychrome glass sculptures set on three metal structures. Made at the Fornace Seguso in Murano, these sculptures are conceived as fragments of another world, evoked through organic forms, both human and vegetal, mineral and animal. His research focuses on the formal ambiguity between the different kingdoms in the context of current theories of «infra-vies (1)» and global collapse. It pursues the artist’s reflection on temporal questions, where the hypothesis of a collapse of global civilization modi es or even subverts the relationship between the present and the past; where the end seems to merge with the origin.
