Rini Hurkmans was born in 1954, in The Netherlands. She lives in Amsterdam. 
The Flag of Compassion is a conceptual work which can manifest itself both in society at large and in the art world. The Flag is a means to express the feeling of compassion, over and above politics, legal causes, religion, race and gender. The white field symbolizes purity, non-violence and peace. The golden yellow bar represents vital energy, human warmth and compassion, as the positive forces of the human being.
