Richard Deacon
Richard Deacon, a British sculptor born in 1949, is known for his inventive and sometimes unconventional use of materials (the artist considers himself a "fabricator" rather than a "sculptor" and compares his practice to that of a highly skilled worker). Ingeniously constructed and charged with cultural references, his sculptures frequently employ elaborate techniques of assemblage and explore the relationship between interior and exterior.
