Kiki Smith

Born in 1954 in a family of artists, Kiki Smith lives and works in New York. Often a self-portrait, the female figure is at the heart of her work. Her pieces often draw on classical and modern myths that influence our perception of sexuality, from Little Red Riding Hood to Jean Harlow. The later lends her face to the bronze set in one of the pools of the Tuileries garden. Kiki Smith conceived this piece to be installed in a fountain surrounded by jets of water, and considers her Jean Harlow to be the quintessence of bliss.
