Cour Carrée du Louvre
Many renowned architects were involved in the construction of the Cour Carrée. Pierre Lescot's Renaissance facade, the oldest in the Louvre, was commissioned by François Ist shortly before his death in 1545. The decorative sculpture by Jean Goujon pays homage to the French sovereign.
