    Liberté, 2017

    Friday, October 20th - 8:30pm
    Durée : 2 hours

In her performative work, María José Arjona, a Colombian artist, highlights the connections between memory and power. In Plato, freedom was considered to be the most beautiful of all properties in a democratic city. Can we succeed in attaining it? The result of a negation of the fundamental right to freedom and inspired by the displaced bodies of thousands of migrants, María José Arjona seeks to re-signify the meaning of this notion in a choreography punctuated by iterative movements that constitute a metaphor for tenacity, courage, and resistance.

Within the framework of France-Colombia Year 2017 and under the curatorship of Mildred Durán Gamba, as part of the performance cycle “PréSsences”.
In collaboration with the musée du Louvre.
