    Umbrarum Mathematic, 2016

    Thursday, October 20th - 6:30pm
    In collaboration with Denis Savoie
    Duration: 45 minutes
    In French

De-siderium, a missing star. Desire is the story of a star that is missing. An astronomer and a geometrician specialising in ellipses meet to discuss desire.

The challenge of existential mathematics is to translate emotions, thoughts, and doubts into equations, conjectures, and theorems.

This two-pronged session ventures into an algebra of shadows, convoking – beneath the celestial canopy of the planetarium – the question of what continues to move us, despite its archaic nature.

Entrance from 6:30pm through the Salon d’Honneur of the Grand Palais, 75008 Paris
