High-polish stainless steel and resin paint with powder-coat steel base
    243,8 × 40,6 × 10 cm
    Shane Campbell, Chicago

Lisa Williamson was born in 1977 in Champaign, IL. She lives and works in Los Angeles.

Each sculpture draws from the basic form of a door and acts as both a framing device and a passageway. Constructed from stainless steel, the sculptures are split horizontally into painted and mirror polished sections. Areas of high polish seem to almost disappear, leaving frames of metal encased in skin-like paint, to either float in space or to be grounded by their opacity.

The forms outline a compressed articulation of space; a delineation between the landscape viewed within each frame and the object itself, as well as a subtle optical rupture in the surrounding landscape.
