    • Malick Sidibé, Mali Twist

      20 oct. 2017 > apr. 2018

In 1995, the Fondation Cartier pour l’art contemporain presented the first solo exhibition of the Malian photographer Malick Sidibé ever held outside Mali. A year after his death in April 2016, the Fondation produced an exhibition and a book dedicated to the artist, both put together by André Magnin and Brigitte Ollier. Bringing together iconic works, unseen images, vintage photographs and archive documents, the exhibition immerses the visitor in the life and work of the man nicknamed “the eye of Bamako” for having captured the spririt of its residents and the joie de vivre of its youth.
